The Philippines and Luxembourg are currently firming up the proposed bilateral Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation, the first round of negotiations of which will commence in November 2008 in Manila.

Luxembourg supported the Philippine Government in the latter's concerns in the European Union on the Canned Tuna issue.  With its two votes in the Council, Luxembourg supported the proposal that EU should provide MFN-based tariff-rate quota (TRQ) of 25,000 metric tons, with an in-quota rate of 12%.

Luxembourg likewise supported the request of the Philippines to include the NPA and Jose Maria Sison in the EU's list of Terrorist Persons/Organizations.
