Maintenance Work, Equipment Upgrades in ePassport Ongoing
The Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of Consular Affairs announced that the ePassport Personalization Center at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is undergoing maintenance work and equipment upgrades.
As such, delays in the releases of ePassports are to be expected especially at various Embassies and Consulates General. The delay could last for a few more weeks.
"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delays. We would like to assure the public that we are exerting our best efforts to resolve the issues as soon as possible," Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Jaime Victor Ledda said.
The Embassy therefore requests the Filipinos in Belgium and Luxembourg who do not have immediate travel plans to defer their applications until operations are back to normal.
Passport applicants who cannot forego their upcoming travels are requested to coordinate with the Consular Section of the Embassy at telephone numbers (+32) 02 340 33 73 and (+32) 02 340 33 74.
