PHILIPPINE MANGO INDUSTRY INVESTMENT PROMOTION CARAVAN IN BELGIUM

Brussels, 7 December 2016  ---The Department of Agriculture (DA), in cooperation with the Philippine  Mango  Industry  Foundation, Inc., conducted a mango investment forum in Brussels on 5 December 2016 to encourage overseas Filipinos  to support  and invest in the mango  industry. The industry has 2.4 million mango farmers  who stand to benefit from the expanded and sustained exportation of the fruit and its by-products.

Charge  d'Affaires Alan L. Deniega  welcomed the attendees composed of importers, retailers, and Filipino  community members. Humphrey Restaurant, a trendy restaurant in Brussels  specializing in interpretations of Filipino dishes,  served dinner which was topped off with a dessert  of fresh Philippine  mangoes.

The Philippine delegation was headed  by DA Regional Executive Director  Lucrecio R. Alviar, Jr.
